Mumbai: Former Indian Cricket captain Ajit Wadeka, who led the team to path breaking test wins in England and the West Indies, passed away on Thursday morning after a prolonged illness.
According to the sources,He was 77 and was survivied by his wife Rekha nad two sons. On Thursday morning , he was brought to the Mumbai’s Jaslok hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
According to his family members, his last rituals to be performed on Friday.
Wadekar scored 2,113 runs in his Test career, including one hundred, and was also the country’s first ODI captain. He appeared in just two matches, though.
